Giving
There is a fissure in my spirit
A breach in my heart
And an abyss in my life
I need to fill this yawning chasm
With a feeling that’s robust
Fierce and formidable.
I have the kit
The tools and the being
Yet I yearn for the hushed
Unspeaking soundless passion
That befalls the sparingly obvious
Search for the perfect feeling.
Remind me at a later step
That my angst was unfounded
When you succumb to the song
The profits of companionship
Are unwavering in its desire
For warmth compassion and love.
I await the day
When I can live freely
With a resolute and purposeful
Link to a physical state of bliss
This life has to have an abundance
Of feelings and love for substance.
