Balance

Balance

The rain tapped softly against the glass
Cold weather was approaching fast
Winter nurtures its cold rule
As we yearn for spring to revisit.

The rain is sharp now
Swiftly gaining momentum
Lightning flashed across the sky
Thunderous applause followed.

A sudden calm engulfed the scene
Bringing relief from the gloomy darkness
This respite is but brief
As we swallow the obscure brightness.

Laughter and enjoyment echoes
As pleasurable as a boring space
The extent of the damage is apparent
As the rain launches mercilessly.

We live life in spasms
Days filled with sunshine and thunder
Nights filled with calm and rain
And the fleeting sense of well being.

Tomorrow will bring fresh hope
That we will have clear times
Nothing can balance the storms
And judge the starlit skies.
